Hakim Ali Zardari laid to rest

NAWABSHAH: Hakim Ali Zardari, the veteran politician and father of President Asif Ali Zardari, was laid to rest here, Geo News reported on Wednesday. His funeral prayer was offered at around 5:00 am at Zardari House Nawabshah. Late Hakim Ali died on Tuesday after a protracted illness. He was 81.

PNS Mehran under attack in Karachi: Interior Minister

 KARACHI: PNS Mehran a heavily guarded facility of Pakistan Navy located along Sharea Faisal has come under an armed attack, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday. 

He said terrorists have launched an armed attack on PNS Mehran. 

TV images showed smoke billowing from PNS Mehran.

Earlier, four blasts were reported from the area near PAF base Faisal.

NEWS ALERT Heavy fire erupts in Geo News

Karachi: A heavy fire erupted in the Pakistan’s leading news channel Geo News in Karachi, disrupting routine broadcasting on Saturday.

The TV reported that a fire erupted in the sixth floor of the multi-storey building and spread all over the floor within no time. It said that the fire inflicted heavy losses to the studio where its famous program “Aaj Kamran Khan kay Sath” is recorded.

The reports said that fire tenders rushed to the Ibrahim Ismail Chandrigar road where the Jang Group building is located. The firefighters faced difficulties in dousing the fire due to heavy gridlock on the II Chandrigarh road and congestion of the area.

Kharotabad enquiry tribunal notification issued

QUETTA: Balochistan High Court’s Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar tribunal has been set up for a judicial enquiry into the Kharotabad incident, however the police and Frontier Corp. are also conducting investigations into the matter. Provincial home secretary, Zafrullah Baloch told Geo News that the home ministry has issued the notification relation to the setting up of Kakar tribunal after the approval of the chief minister.
