NEWS ALERT Heavy fire erupts in Geo News

Karachi: A heavy fire erupted in the Pakistan’s leading news channel Geo News in Karachi, disrupting routine broadcasting on Saturday.
The TV reported that a fire erupted in the sixth floor of the multi-storey building and spread all over the floor within no time. It said that the fire inflicted heavy losses to the studio where its famous program “Aaj Kamran Khan kay Sath” is recorded.
The reports said that fire tenders rushed to the Ibrahim Ismail Chandrigar road where the Jang Group building is located. The firefighters faced difficulties in dousing the fire due to heavy gridlock on the II Chandrigarh road and congestion of the area.

Kharotabad enquiry tribunal notification issued

  QUETTA: Balochistan High Court’s Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar tribunal has been set up for a judicial enquiry into the Kharotabad incident, however the police and Frontier Corp. are also conducting investigations into the matter.

Provincial home secretary, Zafrullah Baloch told Geo News that the home ministry has issued the notification relation to the setting up of Kakar tribunal after the approval of the chief minister.

Pakistan ordered U.S. Special Forces trainers to leave


WASHINGTON: Pakistan has ordered the departure of up to 20 percent of the roughly 150 U.S. Special Operations forces trainers in the wake of a series of clashes between the two governments, a U.S. military official said.

Blasts in NATO tankers, 16 dead in LandiKotal

LANDIKOTAL: NATO oil tankers were set ablaze in two separate incidents late Friday night at Landikotal and Torkham killing at least 16 people, including 8 members of a family.

The sources said in the first incident at 10:30 p.m. the militants torched a Nato oil tanker in Khugakhel area on the Landikotal bypass. The tanker was parked on the roadside when it was dynamited with a time device, the sources said.
