Sri Lanka beat England by 10 wickets

Sri Lanka marched into the World Cup semi-final securing an emphatic win against England at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today. After winning the toss and deciding to bat against Sri Lanka, England set a modest score of 230 for Sri Lanka to chase in the last World Cup quarter-final match.Chasing the target, in a spectacular batting partnership Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga scored centuries to reach 231 in 39.3 overs and beat England by 10 wickets to secure the semi-final slot.
Sri Lanka’s legendary spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, who is retiring from cricket after the World Cup, grabbed two wickets of England.Sri Lanka will face New Zealand in the semi-final at R. Premadasa Stadium on March 29.
